Ashley National Forest has closed several roads. Red Cloud, White Cloud Loop, Taylor Mountain Road, Dry Fork and Whiterocks have been closed for the season. Do not let perceptions throw you off. The roads may look passable from a distance but they quickly become icy and deep with snow. Closing roads is not an arbitrary choice. Three elements are seriously considered; public safety, resource protection, and infrastructure maintenance. Also be sure to thank the partnership of the Forest Service, Uintah County, and Utah State Parks for grooming Red Cloud Loop from Iron Springs to Kaler Hollow for the season. This area has been prepared for some over-snow recreation experiences, so get your machines, cross-country skis, snowshoes, and dogsleds out and into the snow.
