Gennie Bird presented a contract to the Uintah County Commissioners on Tuesday between the County and Sunrise Engineering but which will be paid for by an outside source. The agreement is for professional engineering services regarding Ashley Gorge environmental clearances. Bird explained that the fee is $24,900 dollars but that Access Utah has agreed to pay the entire fee. Access Utah, or the Utah Education and Outdoor Access Foundation, is an organization committed to providing new outdoor access opportunities throughout Utah. Bird asked for the Commission’s approval and signature on the agreement. Commissioner John Laursen read a portion of a letter from Access Utah which stated their commitment to pay Sunrise Engineering for the survey on the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata project and that they are committed to the success of the project. The Commissioners approved the agreement.
