Above Average Conditions Continue during Spring Runoff on Flaming Gorge

Spring runoff continues to flow at an above average pace. According to the Bureau of Reclamation, unregulated inflow into Flaming Gorge Reservoir during the month of February was at 236 percent of average with the current elevation of the reservoir at about 82 percent of live capacity. Projects show that April and May inflow volumes will continue at about 250 percent of average. The unregulated inflow volume forecast into Flaming Gorge through July is 2.26 million acre-feet with current snowpack remaining above 170 percent of average and additional storms adding to the season peak for the Upper Green Basin. The Bureau of Reclamation is holding an open public forum between the Reclamation and the stake holders of Flaming Gorge Dam on Thursday, April 20th at 10am at the DWR offices in Vernal.
