A Special Tax Credit for Rural Business

by | Jan 24, 2019 | News | 0 comments

Our 2019 has started and the small businesses of rural Utah should take note of a special tax credit now available. The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) through the Office of Rural Development (ORD) has been striving to help rural communities like those in the Uintah Basin by providing resources to sustain business and improve employment opportunities. One such program is the Targeted Business Tax Credit (TBTC). It is designed to help rural Utah counties that have populations with less then 25,000. “The Targeted Business Tax Credit is one of the tools in the toolbox that is largely underutilized. We are committed to changing that,” says Ginger Chinn, GOED managing director. The program encourages local businesses to make investments in rural communities by giving up to $100,000 in a refundable tax credit to those businesses with projects that meet criteria. Interested businesses need to apply soon as the deadline is
February 1st.
Apply through the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development office.
