A Uintah High School teacher is in the news again for being a standout educator in the state of Utah. Uintah High teacher and DECA advisor Kami Elison has been recognized as the CTE Teacher of the Month for the state of Utah. Uintah High School shares that Elison teaches nine to 11 career and technical education (CTE) courses from business communications to web development to TV broadcasting in any given school year. Kristina Yamada, an education specialist with the Utah State Board of Education, shares that “what sets Kami apart is not just her technical proficiency but also her unwavering commitment to her students’ development.” This is not the first time Elison has been recognized as a dynamic educator. She was named the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year for Uintah School District, has received a Best In State award twice for her students’ performance on the Business Communications 1 exam, and is a finalist for Utah’s Teacher of the Year.
