The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office has released further information on the incident last Tuesday in which a semi with a box trailer crashed into the RC Tire Store in Duchesne City. “When Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on scene, 21 year old Estinyer Hernandez Chirinos and 21 year old Angel Ibarra Olivares were sitting in a car that belonged to a Duchesne County EMT who happened to have witnessed the crash,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “She had talked the men into letting her evaluate them. EMS soon arrived on scene to assist. Olivares translated for Chirinos, who did not speak English, and told officers that Chirinos had been driving. Olivares told the officer that Chirinos had been going 55 miles per hour when he hit his brakes to slow down in the 30 mile per hour zone. [Chirinos] produced a fake identification card but no driver’s license. He was then transported to Uintah Basin Medical Center. The owner of the box truck was contacted and informed officers that Chirinos was not authorized by them to be driving the truck and that Olivares was their employee.” Both Chirinos and Olivares were ticketed for not wearing seat belts and Chirinos was cited for Prohibited Use of an Identification Card, No Valid Driver’s License, Reckless Driving, Unauthorized Control of a Vehicle, Giving False Information to Police and Speeding/Too Fast for Existing Conditions.
