Shoe Donations Still Needed For ‘Think Kindness’ Efforts At Uintah Middle School

New and old shoes are welcome as the students at Uintah Middle School continue their shoe drive as part of the ‘Think Kindness’ challenge. Brian Williams, the founder of Think Kindness, traveled to Vernal earlier this month and did a special assembly at Uintah Middle School, teaching the kids that no kind act is too small. “My job is to figure out a way to go into a school and make kindness cool,” Williams said. “It’s super important that we start kids early, to train them to say, look, every single day you have an opportunity to make a difference in the world, but it’s up to you as to whether you’ll take action. When we see those acts of kindness, it reinforces that belief, like, our world is good, our world is awesome, people are awesome, and we can all band together and make a difference.” The students are moving towards their goal of collecting 8,000 pairs of gently used shoes to donate to families in need in Tanzania, Africa. If you have donations, first try to give them to a UMS student or drop them off at Uintah Middle School.
