Vernal Oilers Player Signs Pro Contract Making League History

The Vernal Oilers are already proving a successful opportunity for its players. The Can-Am Junior Hockey League announced on Sunday that Nikita Andrusenko, forward on the Vernal Oilers team, has made league history as the first ever player to sign a professional contract. According to their announcement, Nikita recently signed a Player Tryout contract with the Delaware Thunder and he made his pro debut against the Port Huron Prowlers over the weekend. Nikita is a 21-year-old native of Russia. He played two seasons with the Utah Outliers before joining the Vernal Oilers for this season. During his season with the Vernal Oilers he had 14 goals and 29 assists in 12 games played, putting him among the top scorers in the league.
