Do you plan on hunting big game this fall in Utah? If the answer is yes, the Division of Wildlife Resources says to take note as the application period opens this month and has a short window. Big game hunts will be held for bighorn sheep, bison, elk, moose, mountain goat, mule deer, and pronghorn. The application period opens January 27th and closes March 3rd with results released by May 31st. The only exceptions are: permits for the state’s general-season bull elk hunts won’t be available until July. Permits for the general-season archery bull elk hunt go on sale July 12th, the any-bull elk permits go on sale July 14th, and the spike bull elk permits go on sale July 26th. Permits will be sold at all DWR offices, all license agent locations, and www.wildlifelicense.utah.gov.
