Colorado Parks and Wildlife have confirmed the second wolf kill in northwestern Colorado in the last month. It was confirmed that a border collie dog was killed on Sunday and a second dog was injured both on a ranch in north western Colorado. Wildlife officers conducted an investigation and concluded that the carcass was consistent with a wolf kill and there were wolf tracks at the scene. This is the second wolf kill reported in less than a month in the area after a 500 pound purebred heifer was killed. That incident was the first confirmed wolf kill of livestock in over 70 years in the state of Colorado.
