After taking care of county business on Monday, the Uintah County Commission meeting turned to a discussion on the national vaccine mandate. Commissioner Bill Stringer expressed his concerns about the growing shortage of medical personnel and what would happen if the vaccine mandate caused an even greater shortage. Uintah County Chief Deputy Attorney Jonathan Stearmer responded that he openly advises that Uintah County and TriCounty Health Department not move forward on those mandates until it completely works its way through the courts process. Stearmer stated that there has been very robust discussion on this topic in the Supreme Court hearings underway and that right now it is a “stay-tuned item”.
