Traffic was diverted for an early morning crash on Highway 40 west of Vernal on Thursday. According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden, the crash occurred on US-40 milepost 133 about 8 miles west of Vernal at 3:24am. “A blue Hyundai Sonata was traveling Eastbound and a silver Dodge Ram was Westbound,” explains Sgt. Roden. “The Hyundai crossed the center line and hit the Dodge head on. The Dodge then went off the road after the crash. The three adult male occupants of the Dodge were not injured. The 22 year-old female driver of the Hyundai was the only occupant and she was transported with minor injuries. She is being investigated for impaired driving.” Traffic was allowed one direction at a time but had to be diverted through the weigh station that was nearby for nearly 2 hours.
