If you’ve been dreaming of a white Christmas you are in luck! Fresh snow and a lot of it is forecast for the region. Uintah County Emergency Management is getting the word out of a winter storm warning in effect from 11:00am on Thursday through 11pm on Friday, Christmas Eve. “Expect heavy snow mainly above 9000 feet,” shares Uintah County Emergency Management. “Total snow accumulations of 10 to 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph in the Eastern Uinta Mountains. Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility… If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.” Visit www.weather.gov/gjt/winter for a detailed map of the snowfall and be sure to check road conditions before traveling.
