Do you love learning about dinosaurs? The Friends of the Utah Field House has partnered with the Uintah County Library to start a 2019 lecture series. The lecture kicks off with Dr. John Foster. Dr. Foster is an expert on the Late Jurassic, having spent more than twenty-five years excavating fossils across the western United States. He has also authored and co-authored more than 55 professional papers about various dinosaurs eras and is the author of two books,
Jurassic West: The Dinosaurs of the Morrison Formation and Their World
and
Cambrian Ocean World
. His lecture “What’s New and What’s Weird in the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation” will give an update on the latest discoveries from the Morrison Formation, the rainbow-hued rock layers that yield fossils of iconic dinosaurs such as Stegosaurus, Diplodocus, and Allosaurus.
