Veterans Day Ceremonies

There are ceremonies being held throughout the Uintah Basin today in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans Day was originally called ‘Armistice Day’ and was first recognized on November 11th, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. The name was officially changed to Veterans Day in 1954 and pays tribute to all American Veterans. The Uintah Basin Area Veterans is holding a special Veterans Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at 11am today on the Uintah County Library lawn. A Veterans Day Appreciation Luncheon will be held from noon to 1pm at Esquire RV as a thank you to local active and retired military personnel. A Veterans Day Luncheon is being held at the Centennial Event Center at 1pm to honor all Duchesne County Veterans. Terra Academy is holding a Veterans Day Ceremony at their school today at 2:00pm. There will be a helicopter flag presentation by Classic Air and an appearance by the Patriot Guard. All Veterans and the community are invited to attend.
