This week’s Give’m Health radio interview provided an update on the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. TriCounty Health Department had reported that they were waiting for the CDC to join the FDA in approving the vaccine’s use in children. That approval happened Tuesday with CDC advisers voting 14 to 0 to recommend the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 and older. TriCounty Health has been working on plans to make the vaccines as convenient as possible for locals who want their children to receive it. Once TriCounty Health has the vaccines for children and a plan in place, parents and the community will be informed. For now, Pfizer Wednesday continues at the health department from 3-5pm in both Roosevelt and Vernal for anyone 12 years old and older to receive the vaccine.
