Starting today, TriCounty Health Department is offering free COVID-19 testing three days a week. TriCounty Health shared on Friday that the Vernal office will have weekly testing Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 11am. The Roosevelt office will have testing Monday and Wednesday from 8am to 11am. “The best way for people to have the tests they need is for public health to offer a free option,” Health Officer Kirk Benge said. “We would like to see a decline in cases of COVID-19. The Uintah Basin is experiencing more cases. In public health our concern is for the prevention of illness and sustaining a healthy community, offering free COVID-19 testing alongside our vaccines helps us to provide health and prevention to those who choose to get vaccinated and those who don’t.” Those who need a test for COVID-19 can drive into TriCounty Health location parking lot in Roosevelt (409 S 200 E) and park in the designated parking spots on the west side of the building Monday and Wednesday from 8am to 11am. In Vernal designated parking spots will be on the front, south side of the building (133 S 500 E) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 11am.
