It’s every parent’s worst nightmare…Knowing that your child could be hit by a vehicle while walking to or from school, riding their bike, or maybe out on their skateboard and then getting the phone call that your fear has come true. Sadly, this happened recently in Roosevelt City and the Roosevelt City Police Department made a statement about the incident in response. Police reported that on May 6th, officers responded to a call that a pedestrian had been “struck at the crosswalk near 200 East and 200 South in Roosevelt. Thanks to an anonymous tip, Officers were able to locate the individual responsible and charge him accordingly. The pedestrian that was struck had minor injuries and is doing fine.” Many in the community responded to the report claiming that several similar incidents have also occurred recently in the area. All are urged to make safety a top priority, pedestrians as well as drivers.
