TriCounty Health Officer Kirk Benge visited the Eagle Country KLCY studio on Tuesday with a local update on COVID-19. As of May 4th, the health district has 105 active COVID-19 cases. To date, there are 3,872 recovered cases, 290 hospitalizations and 36 COVID-19 deaths. The vaccine count is nearly 38,000 doses and Benge is hoping many more locals will take the time to get vaccinated. Benge says things have hit a threshold with vaccines slowing down. Vaccines can be scheduled for anyone 18 and older at either TriCounty Health Department location. Benge also said he does not believe enough people have been vaccinated to prevent future outbreaks. All are encouraged to get out and get vaccinated. For up to date local information on COVID-19, visit www.tricountyhealth.com.
