TriCounty Health Department announced Thursday that the COVID drive through vaccine shootout is wrapping up and beginning Monday, May 3rd TriCounty Health will administer COVID-19 vaccines the same as other vaccines available at TriCounty Health. To date, TriCounty Health has administered over 13,000 doses of COVID vaccine. The total tri-county area, combining pharmacies and healthcare providers distribution, the tri-county area has about 11,000 individuals fully vaccinated. TriCounty Health has vaccinated nearly 3,000 individuals since drive through vaccine clinics began on March 29th. Of the doses administered during the COVID shootout, about half were first doses. “It makes sense to move away from the drive through mass vaccination,” Health Officer Kirk Benge said. “As more people are fully vaccinated, daily and hourly demand for this vaccine will decrease, we are fortunate to have reached a point in our area where we can move COVID vaccine distribution into our regular business operations along with our other vaccines that are available.” Available appointment times in May will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at TriCounty Health Department in Vernal or Roosevelt.
