To anyone that has traveled through downtown Vernal it will come as no surprise that work continues on the UDOT Main Street Drainage Improvement project on Highway 40. There are three sections of the project all at different phases. This month the southern leg of Vernal Avenue on Highway 40 was closed as crews perform storm drain-pipe installation. Drivers are being directed to use alternate routes on 100 West, 100 East and 100 South to access the downtown businesses that would normally be accessed using Vernal Avenue. It is estimated that Vernal Avenue will remain closed until the second week of May. For questions regarding the project, the Project Information Team can be reached at 435-233-6646.
