The Duchesne County Commission passed Resolution 2021-04 during their Monday meeting “Opposing Conservation Designation or Restriction of Lands in Duchesne County Under the Biden Administration’s ‘30 x30’ Initiative Without the Written Consent of Duchesne County.” As part of this effort, the Commissioners also signed a letter sent to President Biden describing the grave concerns for residents, economies, and the nation with the threat to ban hydraulic fracturing on Federal lands and private lands. The letter closes out with the following statement: “Fracking bans may make for good bumper stickers, but they also discourage millions of working men and women who produce the products and affordable energy we rely on every day. Let’s get America moving again and let’s let our energy workers lead the way.” Read the entire letter as well as the Resolution and other information at www.duchesne.utah.gov.
