Ashley National Forest has the following message for the community: Although it seems like spring, the mountains do not yet agree. Snow will still limit travel for the near future at our higher elevations. Due to the last windstorm we have many trees across roadways on the forest that will need to be removed before the roads can be opened. We try to have our roads and campgrounds available for the Memorial Day weekend. Thank you for your patience as we work to clear culverts and repair any winter damage to our roadways and remove trees that have fallen across our roads this spring…it will take some time until the snow melts and the roads firm up. Thank you for your patience.
