All Invited to Presentation on H.B. 297 “Colorado River Authority of Utah Act”

A special speaker is traveling to the Uintah Basin next week to educate leaders and the public on the ‘Colorado River Authority of Utah Act.’ William Merkley, General Manager of the Uintah Water Conservancy District, made the announcement of the meeting in response to the recent passage of H.B. 297.  Presenter is Gene Shawcroft, the General Manager of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District. Shawcroft was recently appointed by Governor Cox to serve as the Colorado River Commissioner for the State of Utah. “We have asked Gene to present generally on the challenges facing the Colorado River and the State of Utah, as well as help us better understand the new Colorado River Authority,”shares Merkley. “The Uintah Basin will be well represented on this Authority as one member will be appointed jointly by the Boards of Trustees of the Uintah Water Conservancy District and Duchesne County Water Conservancy District, as well as a member appointed by Central Utah. We would invite each of you, as well as anyone you would like to invite, to attend this important and informative presentation.” Shawcroft will present at the Uintah Conference Center in the Paradise Room onThursday, April 1st, at 1:00pm
