Uintah School District Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford provided an update on a variety of District topics during the Vernal Chamber luncheon on Tuesday including the following: While they have continued to see cases of COVID-19 in the schools the prevalence has come down. Every staff member in the District has had the opportunity to receive the vaccine at this point. The District sales agreement to purchase the BHI facility is moving forward and considered a win-win. The District Office and Transportation Department will be located at the BHI facility at 800 South 1500 East in Naples once the remodel is complete and BHI is ready to move to their new location. The building has more garage bays than the District needs so one of the bays is being remodeled to build a 2400 square foot board room as well as offices for the Transportation Department. Plans are also being explored for Central Cove Preschool located on South Vernal Avenue and the District will soon share a survey with the public seeking input. Dr. Woodford also gave an update on space challenges at Uintah High School as well as strategic planning underway that will largely involve the school board.
