Uintah School District Welcoming Back Volunteers; Planning for Prom

The Uintah School District has announced some changes with Uintah County moving from High to a Moderate COVID-19 Transmission area. The District announced in a Friday press release: Superintendent Rick Woodford has authorized the return of volunteers to the schools. Anyone interested in volunteering must contact the school principal for details about their building’s risk mitigation protocols and expectations. The state of Utah has made some modifications to its COVID-19 School Manual. One change involves the Test to Play protocol used for students involved in extracurricular activities. Moving forward, positive test results from the Test to Play protocol won’t count toward the school outbreak threshold. The state has also said that extracurricular activities that are held one time, like a school dance, are included in the Test to Play requirements. This means participants of a one-time extracurricular activity are required to get tested for COVID-19 within two days of the event. With this change in mind, Uintah High is planning to hold prom on Saturday, April 17th. The school will provide UHS students and parents with additional details about prom in the coming days.
