It was a successful day of competition for Uintah High School Sterling Scholars at the Northeast Region Competition held in Orem on Monday. The event took place at Utah Valley University and the Utes came away from the competition with two winners and eight runner-ups. Social Sciences representative Liberty Bennion and Science representative Emily Despain were each awarded the title of Region Sterling Scholar in their category. The eight runner-ups from Uintah were Hayden Boren in Skilled and Technical Sciences, Rylie Dutson in English, Jackson Gardiner in Agricultural Sciences, Jera Haslem in Speech/Theater Arts/Forensics, Caleb Hunt in the General category, Bowde Mold in Family and Consumer Sciences, Whitney Walk in Mathematics, and KarLee Zager in World Languages. Congratulations to these hard working students and thank you for setting an example of excellence!
