Last week Craig Police Department Chief of Police Jerry DeLong resigned. The city of Craig issued a press release on Wednesday in which City Manager Peter Brixius announced Michael Cochran as the City’s interim police chief. His estimated start date is in approximately 2 weeks as former Police Chief Delong’s last day will be March 1st. Cochran is well qualified for the position having formerly worked for the department prior to his current position as Deputy Sheriff and Emergency Management Coordinator for the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office. He has been in law enforcement since 1989 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and has almost completed a master’s degree in Public Policy/Administration from Liberty University.
