The Federal Trade Commission is warning people of a new scam that is going around. Scammers are name dropping Apple and Amazon in order to gather information. The calls are recorded messages saying they are either from Apple or Amazon and that something is wrong with the person’s account; either a suspicious purchase, suspicious activity on an Apple iCloud account, a lost package, or an order they can’t fulfill. The scammer then says an individual can press 1 to speak with someone or give a phone number to call. Any unexpected calls or messages about a problem with an Apple or Amazon account should be hung up on. Do not give out personal information.
