TriCounty Health Department has recruited some great help as they undertake the task of distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to those 70 years old and older. According to a Monday TriCounty Health press release, the National Guard has come in this week to assist with scheduling and other areas where help is needed. “We are excited that so many people in the 70 years old and older age group are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” Director of Nursing at TCHD, KayCee Asay said. “We ask the public to remain patient as we work with the National Guard to schedule as many people as quickly as we can.” The rate of distributing vaccinations will depend on the amount of shipments sent to TriCounty Health. TriCounty Health is no longer using the state COVID-19 hotline. Instead individuals are asked to call the health department’s main office at 435-247-1177. TriCounty Health is also working on an online scheduling system that will eventually allow anyone in the age group to schedule their own appointment.
