COVID-19 vaccines continue to be distributed in the Uintah Basin and TriCounty Health provided an update on Eagle Country 105.5 KLCY on Tuesday morning. As of Friday, 760 vaccines had been administered through the health department. TriCounty Health’s Jake Isaacson shared that vaccine distribution is moving along as the health department is tasked with getting as many people as possible vaccinated and the process is in place to make that happen. The health department is wrapping up the process of vaccinating local educators, having vaccinated first responders and healthcare workers before them. Now the focus is shifting to locals age 70 and older. The health department has already received over a thousand requests for vaccines in this category, shared Isaacson. The proper process is to call the state health department at 1-800-456-7707. The names are then sent to TriCounty Health Department. At that point calls to make appointments will be made. There is also a standby list for any educator, first responder, or healthcare provider who was not previously able to get the vaccine.
