For the last few weeks people have been asked to donate old prom dresses for local young ladies going to prom. Well the big day is next month but the time to find a dress is this weekend. The Prom Dress Drive will conclude with the chance for students to come to the Uintah County Heritage Museum and select a free prom dress. “We wanted to make sure that with the economy the way it was and money being tight that nobody missed out on events because of not being able to afford it,” shares Crystal, one of the event coordinators. There has been a great turn out with at least 50 dresses of various sizes and colors. It will be on a first come, first serve basis with an on-your-honor pay-it-forward understanding. What that means is that you won’t resell the dress but pass it on to someone else in need or come trade it in if you need another one. Interested students can come by
on Friday, March 29th from 5pm to 9pm
and then again
on Saturday, March 30th from 10am to 2pm
. Miss Uintah County will be onsite to give encouragement. If you have a dress that you would like to donate, be sure to drop it off before the end of Friday at either the Uintah County Library.
