Times have been trying for everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic but perhaps more so for healthcare professionals. Of those healthcare workers, those taking care of the elderly have been especially strained. Locally, Uintah Basin Healthcare recognized the efforts of those that are working in the Villa. “The Villa has been in secured mode for months,” shares Uintah Basin Healthcare. “Staff are in full PPE all day, adhering to strict, evolving guidelines while maintaining dignity and quality of life for our residents.” To show the Villa team the appreciation of Uintah Basin Healthcare, Med-Surg/ICU Nurse Manager, Angela Gordon, came up with an idea. All the UBH departments were invited to contribute to a gratitude raffle for the Villa staff. In a show of support that embodies the character of the community and healthcare providers, over 100 gifts were donated in a matter of days. As Uintah Basin Healthcare puts it, “We are all in this together” and the generosity towards one another is no exception.
