Volunteers Help with Little Hole National Recreation Trail

The Little Hole Trail is the most popular and highly used trail in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Even so, dam water discharge since the 80’s has damaged portions of the trail so that they are a safety hazard. Due to high traffic, the Forest Service has the trail as a high priority making improvements over the last few years but still have about a 2,500 feet of boardwalk sections that still need replaced. According to the  Flaming Gorge Gazette, a crew of 14 volunteers that were organized by the Daggett County Trails Committee spent a Friday helping to haul the dismantled and damaged boardwalk. This particular section of the trail is almost 1.5 miles downstream. Volunteers had to haul debris close to 150 yards from the site to a location accessible by boat so that it could be taken to the boat ramp so it can be put in a trailer to be disposed of later. The whole of Uintah Basin thanks those volunteers for all they did to help keep our beautiful nature opportunities safe.
