Voting in Duchesne County was thrust into the spotlight on Tuesday after reports surfaced online of an initially unidentified woman turning voters away from the polling location. As reports were shared on media outlets along the Wasatch Front and the identity was still unknown, Duchesne County Clerk/Auditor Joann Evans confirmed to Evans Family Media that the person was NOT a Duchesne County employee or someone from within the Clerk’s Office. A press release about the incident was issued on Tuesday evening. “The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Facebook posts concerning a volunteer poll worker at the Duchesne County Administration building turning voters away,” shared the press release. “While the investigation is still pending all participants of this incident have been identified. Initial information is leading to a case of miscommunication between the poll worker and the voter. It is the only reported incident at this time.” If anyone has information about this incident, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 435-738-2015. The anonymous tip line is 435-738-0196.
