UBTech Hosting Covid Friendly 2020 Ruck Run

COVID-19 will not stop Uintah Basin Technical College from holding its traditional Ruck Run event in honor of Veterans. It will, however, be changed slightly. This year’s Ruck Run will be a free virtual one. What does that mean and how does it work? First, an interested party visits www.ubtech.edu/ruck-run to register. One then selects what weight class of RUCK they will run. A ‘RUCK’ is what a veteran carries when serving our country. Those who run this 5k wear a backpack in honor of our veterans! The weight classes are Recruit at 20 pounds, Heroic at 30 pounds, and Veteran at 40 pounds (with the Fun Ruck Run being zero pounds). Then during the week of November 9th through November 14th complete the challenge of running a 5K with the RUCK weight and post a photo at #ubtechruckrun or email your photo to stephaniec@ubtech.edu. All runners that participate receive a challenge coin, while all Veterans will receive a free challenge coin whether they run or not. There are also Ruck shirts available for purchase for $20.
