An arrest has been made in the June shooting death of a Rock Springs woman. 45-year-old Jason Lee Fletcher was arrested on Friday for the shooting death of his wife 46-year-old Lena Lynn Fletcher at their Rock Springs home on June 29th. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, Jason Fletcher was holding a towel over a gunshot wound to his wife’s neck when officers arrived at the residence and Fletcher claimed that she had “either accidentally or purposely shot herself with a loaded revolver after a night of heavy drinking.” After an investigation that revealed evidence contrary to his claim along with a forensic pathologist ruling that Lena Fletcher’s death was a homicide, a warrant was issued for Jason Fletcher’s arrest. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Fletcher remains in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
