A fire at the Uintah County Landfill on Saturday night attracted attention with locals on social media taking note and sharing pictures. This seemed to be a repeat of an incident in early September when a fire at the landfill lit up the night sky raising concerns. Thankfully, Saturday’s fire was much smaller than the fire in September and was out in about an hour, shares a Uintah County Landfill representative. Fires can occur for a variety of reasons at the landfill. When they do generally a bulldozer is used to smother the flames, an approach that is very effective. The cause of Saturday’s fire was not shared.
