Identities have been released on a tragic fatal three vehicle crash that happened on Highway 40 on Sunday at Mile Post 102 outside of Myton. 48-year-old Cody Marx of Roosevelt was killed on the scene while 31-year-old Whitney Gudac Corbridge of Vernal passed away later at the hospital. According to Utah Highway Patrol, a Ford Explorer traveling east at about 7000 West struck a cow in the roadway. A Hyundai Sonata traveling behind the Explorer pulled over to help. The driver of the Explorer and the passenger of the Sonata exited their vehicles. A GMC pickup pulling a utility trailer also traveling east came upon the scene and struck the dead cow causing the vehicle to lose control and strike the Explorer. The Explorer was propelled forward by the impact and struck both the driver of the Explorer, Cody Marx, and the passenger of the Sonata, Whitney Corbridge. Marx was killed on impact while Corbridge was transported by ambulance to Uintah Basin Medical Center where she passed away from her injuries a short time later. Family of both parties have been notified. Evans Family Media extends our sincerest condolences at this tragic time to the family and friends of both parties involved.
