Small Business Grant to Help Employers with Quarantined Employees

Thankfully the Uintah Basin has not so far been hard hit by COVID-19 like other areas of Utah but still there are local effects when individuals are possibly exposed and quarantined. A new grant program is aimed at alleviating that burden on small businesses in Utah. The Small Business Quarantined Employee Grant program helps small businesses to continue to pay employees who are required to quarantine or isolate due to a positive COVID-19 test or exposure to someone with COVID-19. “One of the easiest ways to protect a business as well as slow the spread of COVID-19 is to ask sick employees to stay home,” shares the Utah Labor Commission. “Many employees are nervous to take time off if they are sick for fear of losing their job or income while they get better. Employees may also hesitate to tell their employer if someone in their home has tested positive for COVID-19.” Small businesses wanting to fill out a grant application, visit https://laborcommission.utah.gov
