Anadarko and Middle Fork Energy are the first recipients of a special award that is the first of its kind. Last week, TriCounty Health introduced the public to the Uintah Basin LORA award, LORA standing for Leadership in Ozone Reduction Awareness. “The award is given to recognize voluntary industry efforts to reduce ozone in the Basin,” explained TriCounty Health. “…The current ‘marginal’ nonattainment ozone designation in the Basin does not require additional regulatory requirements for oil and gas wells, however, many oil and gas companies in the Basin have taken proactive, voluntary measures to help reduce emissions during high ozone events.” Anadarko and Middle Fork Energy were presented with their awards on Thursday. “To each of these and other companies doing similar work, we offer our gratitude,” shared TriCounty Health Director Jordan Mathis. “Each investment made towards ozone reduction is an investment in the future of our community and its economic development.”
