The Slipper and the Rose: An Old Tale to a New Tune

Vernal Theatre: Live is getting ready to present ‘The Slipper and the Rose: The Story of Cinderella’. This story of Cinderella is one for the whole family. This production started as a movie in 1976 and was chosen as the Royal Command Performance motion picture selection of that year. It features Academy Award-nominated songs by the Sherman Brothers. In fact, at the Royal Film Performance Queen Mother commented to the songwriters, “The waltz you wrote for the ballroom scene is the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard.” The musical stage production was mounted in 1984 and it made its North American premiere in 2005 at the Hale Center Theatre in West Valley City. Now the Uintah Basin can enjoy the show. The show starts nightly at 7pm and opens Friday, September 11th and plays select days through Saturday, September 19th.
