Uintah School District Addressing Rumors

by | Aug 18, 2020 | News | 0 comments

There are rumors running around concerning what will be going on with the new normal of school this year. Uintah School District would like to address a serious rumor that is being passed around. There is a post circulating on social media that claims that schools will test students for COVID-19 without parent/guardian consent, and will withhold information about a student’s location from their parent or guardian. “With regard to the Uintah School District, this post is absolutely FALSE,” shares the District. The procedure that the district will use when it concerns COVID-19 is as follows. Any child showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 at the school will be separated until a parent/guardian can pick them up. If a student shows signs of needing emergency medical care, the school will call 9-1-1 for assistance and will notify the student’s parent/guardian. These are the same procedures the school has been using in the past. Any testing for COVID-19 is a decision for parents or guardians.
