Daggett County Sheriff’s Office shared some good news over the weekend. The Richard Mountain Fire has reached 90 percent containment and the focus has shifted to working on the perimeter and fire mop up. Utah Fire Info reports that the Richard Mountain Fire burned 7,633 acres. The fire started in Wyoming around 2pm on August 3rd and quickly spread onto BLM lands in Utah. On August 5th, the BLM Vernal Field Office issued a temporary emergency closure for the “B” portion of the Green River due to the wildfire’s danger to the public but the closure has since been lifted. Resources used on the Richard Mountain Fire include 10 engines, 1 watertender, 2 twenty person crews, and 1 dozer for a total of 142 personnel.
