When the world needs heroes to remind humanity what good deeds we are capable of, it can feel like those individuals are often far away. Today it is a little bit closer. A 15 year old girl from Craig has continued her participation in gymnastics, last Friday competing in Rifle. What makes this amazing is what Jessica Womble had to go through to get there. According to a report from Fox News, Jessica was involved in a car accident last May in which she lost her leg. Determined to get back into her passion of gymnastics, Jessica pushed herself early. After spending a month at Children’s Hospital she returned to the Rising Star Youth Training Center in Craig and started to practice once again. Though it was never easy, Jessica kept a positive attitude and focused on further developing her upper body strength. Less than a year after the accident she was able to compete including in the final competition for the season held in Rifle.
