Community Comes Alive With 16th Annual ‘Alive After Five’ Competition

16 contestants performed their hearts out last night at the opening of this year’s Alive After Five singing competition on the community stage outside the Uintah County Library. This is the 16th year for this community favorite summer event that takes place over four weeks, each week eliminating 4 competitors. A great audience showed up last night, excited to vote for their top 2 favorite performers. The winners from the Week 1 competition are Saydee Greene, Riley Hutcheson, Danielle Meacham, Amy Nelson, Des Rimer, Susan Ronson, Kelly Boren, Dan Sanders, Ammon Smith, Lillian and Abigail VanDaam, Avery Weight, Savanna Young, and Kaylee Zlaya. The competition continues every Thursday night at 5pm with the Grand Finale on Thursday, August 6th, where the winners take home a combined $1,800  dollars in cash! The event is presented by Vernal City and Evans Family Media in partnership with Simplot, Downtown Auto Group, Guild Mortgage, Ashley Regional Medical Center, La Cabana Restaurant, Cliff Contractors, and Strata Networks.
