Progress is being made on the Allen Fire in Daggett County. Utah Fire Info provided an update on Wednesday evening stating that crews fighting the Allen Fire in Daggett County took advantage of more favorable weather conditions to launch a direct attack on the fire with support from two helicopters. The fire remains about 40 acres in size but most of the burning on Wednesday took place inside the perimeter. While the fire is still considered zero percent contained, crews have been able to construct lines along the east and west flanks. Crews plan to reinforce the lines and put out any hot spots before calling these areas contained. The fire also moved away from structures at the bottom of Allen Draw and a dozer line was placed to prevent the fire from reaching the structures if the fire changes direction. There are 120 personnel assigned to the fire which was started by lightning on Monday, July 13th.
