Uintah School Board Approves 2020-2021 School Year Reopening Plan

The Uintah School District Board of Education approved the 2020-2021 school year reopening plan during a public meeting Tuesday night held at the Vernal Middle School auditorium. The Board unanimously approved a motion to approve the framework of the proposed reopening plan with the intent to start the school at 100 percent capacity pending consultation with TriCounty Health in August before the school start date. The motion emphasized that it is understood that the plan is a framework that will change and have flexibility. The Board asked questions of the Superintendent as well as TriCounty Health Officer Jordan Mathis who was present. The entire meeting can be viewed on the ‘USD LiveStream’ YouTube channel. The Draft Reopening Plan for the 2020-2021 school year can be accessed on www.uintah.net. During the meeting many topics were discussed but it was emphasized that protocols and planning are still in progress.
