Work continues on Highway 40 construction through Gusher. “Crews are preparing for paving operations to start as early as Thursday, July 9th,” shares the Utah Department of Transportation. “Paving is expected to last for four days. In the meantime, crews will continue to put down base course for the new road. The speed limit in the work zone has been reduced to 50 mph during construction. Please obey the speed limit.” The full project is expected to run through the end of the year and the list of improvements includes adding an eastbound passing lane, center turn lane, and widening shoulder areas to enhance safety and improve mobility. The project work is being done between milepost 122 and milepost 126. All drivers need to remember that the speed limit throughout the work zone is 50 miles per hour. Slow down for everyone’s safety.
