Naples Fire Department had a busy day on Saturday. Naples Fire Chief Brett Reynolds shares that at approximately 11:50am on Saturday, June 13th, a page was received to a structure fire at Dan’s Tire Service in Naples. The Naples crew was at that moment assisting Jensen Fire with a brush fire in the Ashley Creek area that was started by welding activity on the property. Trucks and firefighters from Vernal and Jensen were called to respond to the Dan’s Tire fire due to the type of structure involved. “Upon arrival they found a large stack of tires against an outside wall of the building fully engulfed,” shares Chief Reynolds. “Due to the quick response by all agencies involved the fire was quickly extinguished. The building suffered damage to one wall, but the fire was able to be extinguished before spreading to any other parts of the building or items inside. Naples Fire appreciates the professionalism and teamwork of all departments involved.” The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Still, Naples Fire is urging all to take safety to heart this fire season as it is amping up. “We would like to remind the public that recent rains have created a large amount of vegetation that is quickly drying out,” shares Chief Reynolds, “and we encourage the public to help us by being extremely careful when cutting, grinding, welding, or using any open flames in areas with vegetation.”
